As a parent of a cricket passionate child, founders Ashish Baluja and Nupur Jain have been always looking for an opportunity for their child to play competitive cricket. As they started exploring that, they came across quite a few parents sharing similar mindset and also looking for similar opportunities for their children. That developed in to an idea to create a cricket group in 2018, namely, CricFitSport (CFS). We have an ever expanding group of young players from various age groups coming from various parts of London and Essex and training and playing together. Parents love socialising and engaging in the group and the entire cricket group is managed on a voluntary basis.
CFS is a development group where young players are looking to add additional cricket related activities on top of their current cricketing commitments. Their current cricket commitments with their respective Club, District and/or County always precedence and CFS acts only in the capacity of a compliment to help them perform even better in their current cricket set up.
CFS is quite lucky and blessed to get some excellent support from local clubs allowing CFS not only to use their facilities but also fund some of the events. CFS is thankful to Hornchurch Athletic Cricket Club allowing CFS to use their nets and pitch for a training and matches.
CFS has a major affiliation with Harold Wood Cricket Club which has a shared vision and provides CFS major support to help develop Colt cricket. CFS acts as the Development Squad for their Academy. CFS mainly uses Harold Wood CC as their home ground where numerous fixtures were held. The partnership between Harold Wood CC and CFS is strong and growing strength to strength.
CFS provides excellent quality coaching in groups and individuals sessions by committed coaches at subsidised rates who share the similar vision that CFS has.
In 2018, CFS first participated in a U11 league in HECC Indoor Centre where they played 10 matches and comfortably won the league undefeated. In summer 2019,CFS invited and participated in matches with visiting teams from Singapore, California (USA), Dubai and India. Few of CFS even joined their squad and represented them in a few of their games. All the children loved and enjoyed the games and got enormous exposure playing with teams from different continents in the world. During the winter season, there is plenty of participations in Indoor competitions. In 2020, due to COVID, a lot of planned activities were postponed, however training and a few competitive matches were played. Plans are in place to expand opportunities for young players to train and play matches on year on year basis.
